AOBU Dual-agent marketplace for farmers and livestock keepers using ussd

AOBU is a digital marketplace for smallholder farmers, livestock keepers, and small-scale traders in Tanzania. The problem: farmers lack reliable markets and fair prices, while buyers struggle to find quality products. Our solution is a dual-agent marketplace that works on any basic phone via USSD (no internet required).

How it works: Sellers list products, buyer agents facilitate purchases, and seller agents verify quality. AOBU earns a 6% commission per transaction. We have a working prototype, tested with 50+ farmers, and a clear revenue model. This project creates youth employment through agent networks and improves food security. We seek funding to scale across Tanzania, onboard 5,000+ agents, and reach 1 million users in 3 years.
