Akaboxi is a digital financial inclusion system that enables small holder farmers in rural communities manage and monitor their savings together. It provides communities with a robust and secure way of handling savings kept in boxes, to be managed and monitored by use of a Digitalized Financial Inclusion system that is more secure, reliable and easy to monitor savings and transactions. Akaboxi provides a holistic package to small holder farmers organized in Village Savings and Loan Association groups (VSLAs), improving their productivity through trainings, provision of access to ready markets and affordable loans. The market for Akaboxi is over 2M village savings and loan association groups in Uganda extending to neighboring countries. It has a unique circular model, its scalable , replicated , leverages on existing infrastructure and platforms like mobile money. It brings on board the unbanked women and unemployed youth to financial inclusion.
