AESIS2022 to include 29 Investor Meetups around the world

  • 26 cities in Africa to host local investor meetups
  • East, West, North and Southern Africa are well represented to boost early stage investing, as well as Dubai, London and Washington DC
  • Over 300 verified investor organisations have confirmed attendance
  • Agenda to include gender inclusivity and green/climate focused investment 

A record 29 cities across Africa and beyond will play host in November to a physical gathering of investors, in the biggest Africa Early Stage Investor Summit since its inception in 2013.

The 9th edition of the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (#AESIS2022) will take place from 2-4 November, 2022. As the event kicks off on 2 November, more than 29 physical gatherings will take place in several cities across the world, namely: Burkina Faso – Ouagadougou; Botswana – Gaborone; Cabo Verde – Praia; Cameroon – Douala; Côte d’Ivoire – Abidjan; DR Congo – Kinshasa; Egypt – Cairo; Ethiopia – Addis Ababa; Ghana – Accra; Kenya – Nairobi; Malawi – Lilongwe; Mauritius – Moka; Morocco – Casablanca; Namibia – Windhoek; Nigeria – AbujaLagosPort Harcourt; Rwanda – Kigali; Senegal – Dakar; South Africa – Cape TownJohannesburg; Tanzania – Dar Es Salaam; Tunisia – Tunis; Uganda – Kampala; United Arab Emirates – Dubai; United Kingdom – London; USA – Washington DC; Zambia – Lusaka and Zimbabwe – Harare.

#AESIS2022 is a summit designed by ABAN and VC4A with the slogan “for investors, by investors”, that has been growing steadily over the years even as the startup ecosystem is being recognised as a crucial development tool for Africa.

“These gatherings are designed to create a rich networking experience for investors, and this year we expect more than 200 investor organisations to participate. Moreover, in 2021 we had 13 investor meetups in 11 cities. In November 2022, we will double that number and we can’t wait to see the growth that these conversations will spur,” said Fadilah Tchoumba, ABAN Secretary General. 

Registration for the local investor meetups will be done online and will be open to investors in the individual countries. Interested parties are encouraged to book their complimentary ticket as soon as possible as there is limited space available. 

In the agenda for #AESIS2022, ABAN and VC4A have worked to jointly promote gender inclusivity and a green/climate investment mindset.

#AESIS2022 is for the first time introducing an Ecosystem Side Event, curated for Entrepreneur Support Organisations and accelerators. The segment speaks to the intersection between entrepreneurship development and early stage investing.
