About us

Techstars Startup Week Zanzibar aims to create a platform where entrepreneurs, innovators, and local leaders are brought together over five days in Stone Town, Zanzibar in order to promote, boost and empower the Zanzibari startup climate.

Our themes

Our themes are tailored to cover transformative events that will significantly strengthen the current and future entrepreneurship ecosystem in Zanzibar

• Promoting Women in Business
  This theme will host a series of events that celebrate and promote female-led businesses in Zanzibar.
• Hack for Youth Entrepreneurship
  We will engage various partners to create platforms for young entrepreneurs to be better oriented on how to launch their startups and ease the development process.
• Startup Policy and Funding Landscape for Startups in Zanzibar
  A series of policy dialogue workshops and focus groups with relevant government authorities, corporates, and startups.
• Investment and Social Entrepreneurship for Inclusive Development
  We will be hosting events to promote Social Entrepreneurship models.
• Sustainable Tourism and Digital Skills
  In order to build a more resilient and sustainable tourism industry, Zanzibar is looking to rebrand its tourism sector post-pandemic.
