With StartHub Africa, we turn job seekers into job creators. The innovative StartHub Entrepreneurship Academy empowers students to start their own business. Our high-quality education approach creates the bridge between startup ideas and succesfully operating businesses. On this way we tackle youth unemployment, provide a network to investors and build an entrepreneurship ecosystem accross Ugandian, and later on East African Universities.
Over the course of one semester, StartHub students attend weekly, three-hour long entrepreneurship workshops, found their own venture and learn how to make it profitable. We build capacities in local lecturers from our partner universities in a train-the-trainer workshop. Then, they facilitate the Academy.
The StartHub Academy is radically hands-on and has three sections: Entrepreneurship Mindset training, Design Thinking and Business Management.
At the end of each semester, the nation-wide StartHub Pitch Event takes place. StartHub teams present their businesses at the StartHub fair to receive direct advice by invited experts and get plenty of feedback.
Thereafter, they and non-StartHub teams can apply to be part of the three-step StartHub Catalyzer. They will receive mentorship form industry experts or experienced entrepreneurs.
In addition, our 3-months open academy, based on the same concept as the university academies, enables private people interested in starting a business to profit from our high-quality course.
