There are stories to take your hat off to and one of them is that of Calixto Romero Hernández, who in 1874, at the age of 16, left Soria (Spain) to take the leap to the other side of the Atlantic. Dedicated to trade in Central America and the Caribbean, on one of his trips he arrived in Catacaos, Piura. Dazzled by the commercial movement of this region, in 1888, he settled permanently in Peru, where he invested all his savings in the business of exporting straw hats to the United States and European markets. His perseverance, his sense of constant investment, trust and the value of time did the rest.
This entrepreneurial spirit has been maintained in the Romero Group for four generations and has allowed it to consolidate its position as the main business reference in Peru. It is for this reason that the Romero Foundation works to transmit and promote entrepreneurship.
We are convinced that a good idea is not enough to have a success story. That is why we have developed programs that integrate an entrepreneurial ecosystem through which we disseminate knowledge, train and provide advice and information.
