We are a platform focused on strengthening economic growth and autonomy-staff of female entrepreneurs and politically influencing to incorporate their demands into the economic, legislative and social agenda, with national presence and recognition in the country and in the region.
WHO WE ARE
The Nicaraguan Business Network (REN) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization. religious, made up of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and organizations that support business in the hands of women. The REN is also a platform through which women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs jointly strengthen and promote the growth of their businesses, their business knowledge and their personal leadership. The organization promotes policies and measures that contribute to improving the business environment of women’s business.
The REN initially emerged in 2009 as a project of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN). In June 2011, it was created as an independent organization and in August 2013 obtained its legal status from the National Assembly of Nicaragua. On October 31, 2013is registered by the Department of Registration and Control of Associations of the Ministry of the Interior as a national non-profit organization with the perpetual number 5749.
Since 2014 the REN has led the initiative of advocacy “The Agenda of the Entrepreneurs of Nicaragua”, which is promoted in alliance with organizations that have joined as Vital Voices Nicaragua,), Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), Nicaraguan Development Institute (INDE), Nicaraguan Association of Microfinance Institutions (ASOMIF), Agora Partnerships Nicaragua, Chamber of Industry (CADIN), Business and Assistance Center for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CENAMI), Nicaraguan Textile Chamber (CANICATEX), Federation of Livestock Associations of Nicaragua (FAGANIC), National Chamber of Tourism of Nicaragua (CANATUR), Thriive Nicaragua and the Nicaraguan Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUNIDES).
The purpose of this Agenda is to propose and promote policies and measures to improve the business environment for businesses in the hands of women and facilitate their growth and development. contribute even more to the development of the country. The leadership of REN through the process of promoting and coordinating this Agenda has placed the organization as one of the most prominent voices for women in business.
The REN is comprised of more than 450 individual entrepreneurs and four organizations working for the economic empowerment of women, which are: Fundación Los Angeles, Antocha, ANSPAC and Fabretto Compañía Comercial S.A. The REN partners are located in 8 of the 17 autonomous regions of Nicaragua. Considering that six of its members are collectives, REN’s true membership base includes more than 1,000 women. The companies belonging to the organization locate their companies in the following sectors of the economy; Professional and business services (11%), Transportation (1%), Agriculture and plantations (1%), Food and beverages (18%), crafts and crafts (9%), Beauty, wellness and health (8%), jewelry and jewelry (3%), trade in general (10%), Construction and archetypal (5%), Education (2%), Floristeria and ornamental and medicinal plants (5%), wood and furniture (2%), Media, marketing and graphic design (5%), fashion and Clothing (8%), Prevention and Safety (1%), Environmental Products and Services (1%) and Restaurants and Catering Services (6%).
