We are the change

We are the most relevant sustainability festival in the region, which every year rewards, gives visibility and creates networks among the best 500 social and environmental projects in Latin America.

Thus we contribute to energizing the green economy by displaying regional initiatives in 8 categories aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

New categories

We present 8 categories and 19 sub-categories for more projects to be included in the award. Review each of them so you can participate in identifying you.  

  1. : Category for projects that focus on the care, protection and recovery of the most important resources for our life.
  2. Energy: Destined for novel projects, working in energy production/management systems with a focus on reducing socio-environmental impact.
  3. Human development: The prescribers in this category must have as their axis the human development and well-being of the population, whatever their
  4. Cities: Projects that offer quality of life to its inhabitants, caring for their resources, social justice for current and future well-being.
  5. Waste: Projects for the conscious treatment of all types of waste. Classification, separation, treatment, recycling, etc..
  6. Economics: Projects based on a socio-economic and financial system tending to social welfare, with environmentally friendly companies.
  7. Communication: Report, raise awareness of the climate emergency and the millions of people who are working for the necessary balance between human beings and nature. From their internal communication, in all aspects and in their external communication in traditional media as mass media, or new digital media, as social networks, projects must show their commitment to the environment. Campaigns or pieces that reflect the impact on their communities or regions.
  8. Public policies: Our region requires public policies that understand the socio-environmental complexity and take responsibility for it. This is why public plans or programmes are given for the energy sector, the green economy, environmental management, natural resources, equality between citizens, etc. Projects such as proposals and implementation of change, regulatory measures, laws, and allocation of resources or budget items, etc. can participate.

Other awards

Award for Scalability
Projects or initiatives that are awarded with this distinction are those that have demonstrated rapid and consolidated growth. The judges will be looking for: Plan of growth, how the business adapted to each market, times of implementation, benefit of this enlargement for the end user and commercial and/or financial benefits.
Public Award
The choice of this recognition, will be based on the vote that will be held in an open way on the social networks of Latin America Green Awards, during the Green Latin Week. A first prize and two special mentions will be determined. All of the finalists projects are contenders for this award. You cannot enroll directly.
Effectiveness Award
To participate in this category, the project must have previously been a finalist in Latin America Green Awards. Projects that can demonstrate the impact of their proposal will be awarded, demonstrating that the proposed objectives have been met at the beginning or at some of their stages.
Innovation Award
What is sought to reward with this recognition are those projects or natural persons who challenge the status quo, proposing ideas that are not traditional and that at the same time generate a contagion, inviting others to participate or share. The winning project will be chosen from the participating projects. You cannot enroll directly to this candidacy.
