Mexico Accelerator Programme 2021  is an initiative driven by IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, IKEA Mexico and New Ventures that seeks to accelerate 10 ventures that are in  growth or maturity stage  and that have a positive social or environmental impact through some product, service or generation of jobs. The objective of this program of acceleration is to provide training and capacity building to strengthen the different areas of your business model and thus achieve inclusion in the value chain of a corporate that shares your vision. It also seeks to boost them through a 50,000USD prize to continue scaling their business model at the end of the program.

What does Mexico Accelerator Programme offer?

Our program offers a personalized experience with strategic support, personalized mentories,   trainings and business development. The main objective of this initiative is to prepare the various companies to scale their business model and that at some point, they can be part of the value chains of large corporators.

Additionally, they have the opportunity to attend the Latin American Forum of Impact Investment (FLII), the main forum of investment of impact of Latin America where they will be able to make networking with the most relevant impact investors of the region. At the end of the program, the 10 social enterprises will be able to compete for a prize of 50,000 USD.

Finally, accelerated social enterprises will be able to access “Collective NV” the incredible network of alumni of New Ventures that seeks to continue the relationship with our entrepreneurs by providing support, opportunities and resources to those who have been part of the family of New Ventures throughout the life of their entrepreneurship.

Application Requirements

We are looking for social enterprises that want to scale their business to amplify its impact and consolidate its business model. We look for projects that want to improve the quality of life for the most people through the sectors of:

To be part of the  Mexico Accelerator Programme, your social enterprise must meet these minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Having a positive and verifiable social and environmental impact that is the mainstay of your business model.
  • That the company is formally established in Mexico (it may be Mexican or foreign with operations in Mexico)
  • Offering a product or service that has high potential for scalability.
  • Having a minimum annual turnover of 1,000,000 Mexican pesos (If your startup has lower revenues, it could still be considered according to its impact level)

How and when can you apply?

You can apply to  Mexico Accelerator Programme 2021  from this page (at the top you will find the “Apply” button that will take you to the questionnaire) and you have until 30   August 2020  to terminate the application. This is the deadline to be considered for the second generation of participants of the amazing initiative of  IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, IKEA Mexico and New Ventures.

Since its inception in 2004, New Ventures has catalyzed business growth with social and/or environmental focus through an accelerator and an impact investment fund. She has worked directly with over 1000 entrepreneurs and annually organizes the   Latin American Impact Investment Forum.
