National Gazelles

An initiative of Seda and the Department of Small Business Development

The National Gazelles is a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) development program in South Africa. It was launched in 2015 by the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) and the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda).

Every year – and for the next 10 years – we select 200 small businesses to be considered for the Gazelle program. From these 200 applications, we work with KPMG, Ernst & Young and Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo to select the Top 40.

For the next three years, these 40 SMEs will receive:

• Business opportunities and incentives
• Practical business training, support and mentorship
• Access to funding and private sector involvement
• Virtual incubation
• Networking opportunities, peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge sharing

The 160 remaining SMEs will also benefit from a special Gazelles Business Academy.

As a National Gazelle, your business will be recognised as a professional, growing and high-potential business.

Find out if your small business meets the application criteria – and apply to become a National Gazelle today.
