MITIC

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies was created by Law 6207 dated October 22, 2018 “Which creates the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and establishes its organic charter” to replace the National Secretariat of Information and Communication Technologies, and the Secretariat of Information and Communication.

It is the technical entity and the governing body in the field of Information and Communication Technologies in the public sector, and the communication of the Executive Branch.

General objectives  

• Develop, promote, implement and monitor the public policies, plans, programs and projects of the Information and Communication Technologies sector and of converging sectors, as well as their general arrangement, in accordance with the National Constitution and the laws.
• To promote the development and strengthening of the sector, technological innovation, digital economy, through public policies that involve all levels of the State Organizations and Entities (OEE) and society.
• Promote, increase and facilitate the use of technologies Information and Communication (ICT), always looking for participation and effective access on equal opportunities to all inhabitants of the Republic, with the greatest coverage and quality of services possible; as well as to promote the efficient use of computer technologies, Research, Innovation and Development (IID), training of human resources and competition at national and international level.
• Develop communication processes and strategies for the dissemination of information generated by the State Agencies and Entities (OEE) and the Paraguayan side of the Binational or Multilateral Organizations, in order to ensure that the dissemination of information is carried out in an agile and timely manner and by encouraging the social and educational appropriation of technologies for the proper implementation, a participatory, plural and transparent communication interaction between the Executive Branch and the inhabitants of the Republic.

Mission

Design and implement public policies that promote and facilitate connectivity, inclusion, technological innovation and the digital economy, as well as those involving the creating and disseminating relevant and plural content from state media, generating a broad process of social inclusion from public communication, transparency in the management and promotion of culture and identity.

Vision

Being the public institution that improves the quality of life of people through the massive and inclusive use of ICT by empowering innovation, efficiency in management, access to information, the generation of relevant and quality content, ensuring participation and transparency.

institutional policies

Institutional policy is based on planning, transparency and citizen participation: the promotion of ICT; the protection of users ‘ rights; the free technological adoption and the mass of electronic government.

Similarly, the actions of the MITIC are framed in the strategic axes, transversal lines and strategies of the National Development Plan 2030.
