GreenAPI smart agriculture program: 7 startups set to transform digital agriculture

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Orange has announced the selection of seven innovative startups for the GreenAPI Smart Agriculture Program, a collaborative initiative.

In partnership with Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and VC4A, the program is dedicated to fostering robust business partnerships between Smart Agriculture startups and Digital Agriculture Platforms (DAPs).

The chosen startups are:

Rural Farmers Hub – Nigeria

Rural Farmers Hub uses web- and mobile-based technology to fill the extension worker gap in the agricultural sector in Africa. It is similar to a tele-health application

AGRIX – Cameroon

Agrix Tech mission is to make commercial farming more profitable for all: farmers, lenders, and buyers.

CLINICAGRO SARL – Cameroon

Le service smsAgri comprend quatre fonctionnalités principales : la planification de la fertilisation, la planification de l’irrigation, la planification des tâches agricoles et la détection des maladies avec des recommandations.

Ict4Dev – Côte d'Ivoire

ICT4DEV est une startup spécialisée dans le développement et l’intégration de solutions numériques et technologiques au service des acteurs du secteur agricole.

Riwe Technologies LLC – Nigeria

We combine agroecological services with financial tools to improve the lives of farmers and food system actors. We harness the power of AI, satellite-based solutions, and innovative communication channels such as mobile SMS and telephone calls to empower farmers in rural communities

Manamuz Electric LTD – Nigeria

Manamuz Electric LTD is a Nigerian Electrical and Renewable energy company that provides a complete suite of Electrical, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy offerings.

• ignite AB – Ghana
  ignite AB is a deep-tech company producing the world’s first highly accurate tropical forecast model. Our team of scientists and engineers are experts in their fields, and have created a model that operates at 84% accuracy, compared to the 39% accuracy of global models.

Following a rigorous selection process, these startups will embark on a transformative journey facilitated by the program, equipping them with the necessary skills to integrate with Digital Agriculture Platforms. Moreover, the initiative offers a unique opportunity for these startups to collaborate with a Digital Agriculture Platform to pilot joint service offerings, fostering long-term and sustainable business partnerships.

The official kick-off event is scheduled to take place on 29th and 30th, November at the Orange Digital Center in Dakar, Senegal. During this live event, the startups will connect with mLouma, a Digital Agriculture Platform, laying the groundwork for future collaboration built on mutual trust.
