The First Latam Impact Unicorn Generation

“The First Latam Impact Unicorn Generation” is a program sponsored by PES Latam to help some of Latam’s most promising and fast-growing impact ventures become the first ‘Latam Impact Unicorns’. It is addressed to both larger commercially driven companies that have the potential to deepen and expand the social impact they already create, and for those who have an impact at the core of their mission, but are looking for additional support to become even more ambitious. The participating ventures will receive tailored support to help them achieve their (social) impact goals at scale.

Who are we looking for?

• Commercial enterprises in sectors relevant to impact, such as (but not limited to) health, education, agriculture, energy, food, and fintech
• Enterprises need to be fast-growing, already Series-A funded, and already have a very large outreach
• Companies should be already improving the accessibility or affordability of life-changing, essential products or services for their users or suppliers, as well as being able to deepen and/or expand the value they provide to vulnerable or discriminated populations in significant and strategic ways
• Impact goals should be aligned with the company’s core business and management’s commitment

What is the prize?

The participating ventures will be offered tailored support in developing and/or implementing a pilot, intervention, strategy to grow and strengthen their social impact. The support will be designed around the company’s specific needs and opportunities, and could include, for instance:

• Design/development of social impact deepening intervention/strategy
• Social impact tracking support
• Financing of market research or similar
• Visibility and networking opportunities
• Exposure to funding opportunities, such as introduction to relevant funds
