Join the Largest Gathering of Social Innovators in Africa for a two-day conference with fantastic opportunities to network, learn, and gain valuable insights into the world of social entrepreneurship and impact.

10 years ago, we found an existent gap in the entrepreneurial capacity of young change-makers to build sustainable enterprises and decided to accept responsibility for corrective action. Whereas, young Africans have been largely labelled as unproductive and lazy in some cases, seeking immediate gratification, we have enjoyed the privilege of engaging incredible solutions built by African innovators addressing real problems within their communities. To LEAP Africa, this growing minority represented (and still represents) the future of Africa – a transformed continent through transformative leaders.

What to expect

Young innovators were given the platform to showcase their solutions while they learned valuable skills required to scale their enterprises. The Social Innovators Program is that platform that has remained committed to building the capacity of early to mid-stage entrepreneurs whose focus is largely social impact. The program honors young change-makers by equipping and empowering them with the necessary skills and resources for establishing long-term social enterprises. The initiatives cover various aspects of the society, such as:

10th Anniversary

In 2023, it will be celebrating 10 Years of Impact with 276 innovators from 14 countries trained and connected to investment opportunities allowing them to raise approximately $7 million in grants and revenue while creating jobs for over 400 unemployed persons. This landmark achievement only challenges the team and organization (including the entire ecosystem) to expand the frontiers of African innovation and impact investing in ensuring a sustainable Africa is delivered to future generations.

The Social Innovators Programme & Award is the pioneer gathering of leaders from the private and public sector, civil society organizations and development community to find innovative sustainable solutions to Africa’s key developmental challenges. As a platform to showcase solutions and innovations from all over Africa. Alongside the lines, we also have a number of side events:
