Why join the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge?
The LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge is a great and unique way for you as an entrepreneur to crowdfund for a project within your business and learn how to perfectly pitch your business. At the same time, you get to expand your knowledge, skills and network. You and your team work together to realise your crowdfunding campaign and with that test your success as a business. With the crowdfunding campaign, you get the possibility to realise a project within your business and get some exposure.
Who can join the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge?
You can join the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge if you are a business that works in Fintech and is based in Kenya, your business should be running for 0 – 3 years. The LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge is all about finding the next Fintech solution. If you can contribute in doing this, you are eligible to join the challenge.
How does the LEAP² Challenge work?
1. Apply
You can apply with your business to enter the challenge. If you fit the criteria you are welcome to apply. After application we might get back to you to ask some more information. Innovations can apply until December 15th. On December 18th we will announce the ten innovations who will join the challenge.
2. Training
After the selection a crowdfund training will be organised in Nairobi. During this day we will share all the ins and outs about crowdfunding and make sure you are ready to start the campaign month. The goal is to have you walk away with a full set campaign plan.During this training, you also get the chance to meet with professionals who could help you solve any Fintech or business problems you come across in your business.
3. Campaign month
After a full crowdfunding training, we will refresh your mind with a refresh meet up on January 15th. During this day we will kick off your crowdfunding campaigns and your campaign period will start. During your campaign you will crowdfund for a project within your own business.Close the Gap will match the amount you raised once you are at 50% with a maximum of €2000.4. FinalAll ten crowdfunding campaigns will run until February 25th. The challenge ends with a pitch training in Nairobi. During the final the ten innovation teams learn how to perfect their pitch and have a final chance to give their campaign a boost.
