NINJA Accelerator Kenya
Supporting high innovation growth with Japan
Alongside Japanese implementation partners Double Feather Partners (DFP) and Deloitte Tohmatsu, GrowthAfrica is implementing a unique accelerator program aimed at supporting 5 growth-oriented ventures from Kenya per cohort. This acceleration program is part of Next INnovation with JApan (Project NINJA), a startup support initiative by JICA launched in January 2020, to promote innovation and the creation of new businesses in emerging countries.
In Kenya, NINJA aims at supporting Kenya’s post-revenue ventures showing high-growth potential by providing strategic partnerships, mentorship, and access to investments for continued socio-economic development in the country. This one-of-a-kind accelerator is designed to fast-track the growth of impactful game-changers and is uniquely tailored to guarantee value for post-revenue, high-growth businesses in Kenya to help:
- Strengthen the foundation of your business in Kenya and gear up for scaling through intensive tailored support
- Gain broader perspective, insight, and best practices from a global community of mentors, experts, and instructors.
- Gain unique access to Japanese venture capitalists, institutional and corporate investors, and/or strategic partners like no other program
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria are strictly:
- For-profit, post product, post-revenue business with minimum of 6 months sustained revenue
- Office and operations based in Kenya
- Dedicated full-time founding team
- Minimum of 2 years of existence, but not greater than 5 years
- At a stage to raise Late Seed or Pre-Series A funding rounds
- Founding team committed to fully participate in ALL program activities
- The business model and/or product/service must be tech-enabled
