JCS began on a modest note but with a wealth of entrepreneurial ideas about creating a Pan-African investment and advisory business built on a foundation of uncompromising commitment to excellence.
Our vision is to create a firm that adheres to the highest ethical standards and also create long-term value for all our stakeholders.
JCS was established in 2004 as an impact investment firm that specializes in venture capital management, advisory services and Foreign Direct Investments to Ghana. It is licensed as an Investment Advisor by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana and in 2006 was appointed the fund manager of the first venture capital fund established by the Ghanaian government for medium and small sized enterprises.
In 2009, JCS partnered with Goodwell West Africa Microfinance Development Company (GWAMDC) to make groundbreaking equity investments in the microfinance sector (rural banks and savings & loans companies) in Ghana.
The team has a combined experience of about 40 years which spans private equity investment, new business development, agriculture & agri-business, microfinance investing, etc. The core members of the team have been working together for the past 10 years advising and setting up new initiatives/businesses in impact sectors, which is clear testament of the stability and confidence in the team.
At JCS we believe in keeping a small team and we have built a portfolio of companies that employ more than 800 people in rural Ghana. The portfolio companies provide financial services to over 200,000 clients making us a major factor in the growth of the communities and the broader economy of Ghana.
