Open Innovation Program

Supporting Tech startups in Smart Cities, EdTech and AgriTech in Rwanda

The Open Innovation Program (OIP) aspires to support tech startups to nurture and scale their products embracing collaboration and co-creation with their current or prospective stakeholders.

Through a competitive application process, up to 15 tech start-ups will be selected to receive a four months accelerator to roll out their solutions to the market and scale.

The targeted tech startups of OIP, owning a tech or tech-enabled Minimum Viable Product (MVP) should address specific community problems in the fields of Smart Cities, Digital Agriculture or Educational Technology.

The program will offer a wide range of services (mentorship, tailored coaching and experiential learning training, technical support, demo days) to help startups develop their entrepreneurship readiness, validate their business model and scout investors.

For the startups to be selected for the OIP, it must own a tech or tech enabled product or solution in at least an MVP stage that falls into the Smart Cities, EdTech or AgriTech sectors. The startup has to be in operations for at least 6 months and has it team and product/solution rolled-out in Rwanda.

The program will receive applications until December 23, 2021 @ 5 PM CAT

A jury of internal and external experts will review the application and will select 15 start-ups to benefit from the program.
