Venture Scout Program

Impact Hub Lagos in partnership with Verraki has announced the call for applications for the Venture Scout Program.

About the Program

The Venture Scout Program seeks to support and invest in growth stage ventures preparing to scale. Selected ventures will have access to up to $20,000 in direct investment and coaching from subject matter experts and technical support. Beneficiaries will complete an investment readiness bootcamp program where they will learn to shape and implement their scaling strategy, become investment-ready and successfully scale their ventures.

Who can apply?

Innovative entrepreneurs in Nigeria are invited to apply if their solutions and businesses meet the following criteria;

  • The business owner must be a founder or co-founder over 18 years of age
  • The business must have primary operations in Nigeria;
  • The business must have be registered with CAC;
  • The business owner may be seeking support for customer, product, and/or business model development;
  • Key persons of the business (preferably 2 founders) must be available to undertake the 3-month incubation programme from March to May 2022; 
  • The top 5 winners of the incubation programme must be able to attend a 6-month acceleration programme from July to December 2022.
  • The prize fund is primarily for building digital technology and any balance to be used in the business.
  • The solution and the business model should have the potential to be replicated and scaled to other contexts, markets or geographies.
  • The business shows traction and demonstrates significant models with potential for rapid Proof of Concept.
  • The business should be prepared to fundraise within 12 months.
  • The business should be included within the following sectors:

Agriculture / Food

Poverty/Livelihoods, Sustainable Agric, Food Production

Healthcare / Education

New delivery methods, innovations in health, education, integration

Energy

Water/Energy access, Electricity/Meter innovation

Trade

Logistics, Manufacturing, E-Commerce, Market Innovations, Financial Inclusion/Microfinance Institutions, Online payment/banking

Sustainability / Environment

Responsible / Sustainable Products with strong differentiating factors, Waste management, Oil/Gas
