Customer Discovery and Validation, Incubation and Seed Funding

The IDEA Foundation Seed Stage Accelerator is a three months long incubation program that empowers entrepreneurs to launch globally scalable innovation-driven startups that solve relevant local challenges. The program is uniquely designed to impart knowledge, practical entrepreneurship skills, mentoring and coaching to enable participants immediately apply new  knowledge and skills to their own businesses.

The program is designed to attract and enable the selection of capable and innovative teams of Strathmore students and alumni for incubation support and funding of startup projects addressing relevant local challenges.  The teams receive specialized training and coaching on entrepreneurship, lean startup methodology, business modeling and product development.

During the incubation period the teams achieve proof of concept through lean startup experiments based on MVP (Minimum Viable Product) development, customer discovery and validation. This provides as a requirement and justification for applying for seed funding.

Successful applicants stand to secure KES. 500,000 in seed funding and three months free work-space at iBizAfrica, Strathmore University.
