Africa Technology and Innovation Ecosystem Immersion Program
Gateway54 is a Kenya Technology and Innovation Ecosystem Immersion Program, structured as a week-long in-person, residential program designed to provide you with a unique opportunity to understand the emerging technology and innovation ecosystem of Kenya. The program is being hosted in the lead up to the Kenya Innovation Agency backed Kenya Innovation Week 2023.
As mentioned in a recently published article by Bloomberg, Kenya is poised to become the “Singapore for Africa”. The continent’s growth is an opportunity for multinational corporations, and Kenya’s 7th-most-populous nation status in the continent is well-poised to take advantage. Home to leading home-grown companies such as Safaricom, Equity Bank, Craft Silicon and Cellulant, as well as, technology hubs of multinational giants such as Microsoft, Google, Visa and JP Morgan Chase – Kenya is a hotbed of innovation.
Gateway54 will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 19 – 25 November 2023, and the program will comprise Industry Visits (Innovation Hubs, Unicorn Startups, marquee VC’s, Disruptive startups), Pre-qualified engagements, Meetings with Government Agencies and Industry Bodies, Networking Events and Group Interactions.
Gateway54 is designed for stakeholders from across the globe – including but not limited to, Government Representatives, Scale-up Founders, Innovation Ecosystem Enablers, Corporate Executives, Investors, Researchers and Individuals, who are interested in learning more about Kenya’s burgeoning emerging technology and innovation ecosystem, and the opportunities therein. Nairobi presents a high level of competition – more banks per head than other major African markets. Kenya is the entry point to much of East Africa (EAC), while being economically connected to the EU and US.
