The Land of African Business (le LAB) and the GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation (GCAF) will be co-organizing a pan-African event, #EntrepreneursOnTheMove: Investing in Africa’s Future.

This event will serve as the platform to build the capacity of selected entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and enablers and mobilize key stakeholders within.

We are joining hands because we believe that collaboration is the key to creating more value for African entrepreneurs and enablers who are shaping African entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems.

The goal of #EOM is to catalyze actions towards supporting and investing in African entrepreneurs so that they can grow and scale their businesses. In doing so, we look beyond the borders of countries and regions. We are inclusive to startups and supporters from across Africa. We believe it is only through collaboration beyond borders that we can harness Africa’s full potential.

EVENT OVERVIEW

3 days of entrepreneurship-led activities featuring high-level officials/ influencers, entrepreneurs, investors & key
enablers within African entrepreneurship ecosystems;

Day 1: Startup Track

In partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) building on LE LAB’s experience supporting African young entrepreneurs, the Startups track starts on Day 1. It involves the following structured activities aiming at building the capacity of the selected entrepreneurs:

• Opening of the Startups Track & Keynotes involving key partners
• Pitching sessions
• Coaching sessions
• Hands-on capacity building workshops
• Networking

Day 2: Startups and Ecosystem Tracks

The official opening of the Event will take place on Day 2vand will involve the continuation of Day 1 and the start of the Ecosystems Track:

• Official opening of “#EntrepreneursOnTheMove: Investing in Africa’s Future“ event & Keynotes involving high-level Government officials and other key partners
• High-level roundtables involving investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and enablers
• Parallel workshops/ and per invitation-only sessions involving the following:
  • Investing in African #EntrepreneursOnTheMove with a focus on youth and women
  • Ecosystems Enablers/Influencers/DFIs who are supporting #EntrepreneursOnTheMove
  • Investors who are betting on #EntrepreneursOnTheMove
• Market place to showcase innovative products/services created by African #EntrepreneursOnTheMove
• Networking opportunities AND The African Rethink Awards Ceremony

Day 3: Startups and Ecosystem Tracks

The final day (3) will involve the continuation/conclusion of Day 2 activities + the launch of the SDGs Impact Report, in partnership with GreenTec Capital Partners and will end with a Call to Action and the celebration of African Ingenuity :

• Keynotes
• Launching of the SDGs Impact Report
• Roundtable: Investing in homegrown “#EntrepreneursOnTheMove as a key driver to achieving SDGs
• Continuation and conclusion of Day 2’s activities
• Networking opportunities
• Celebration of African Ingenuity: The Innovation Prize for Africa Awards Nominees Present their Innovations
