The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is your chance to take your agrifood business to the next level. We are excited to announce that the competition is now open and will run until  28June 2026.

A total of USD 160K will be awarded to young African entrepreneurs who have launched scalable, impact-driven businesses in the agrifood sector. This is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure, mentorship, and financial support to scale your venture.

Why Enter the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition?

  • Grand Prizes: Two grand prizes of USD 50K each will be awarded to the most promising and impactful female and male agripreneur-led businesses.
  • Impact Awards: An additional USD 60K in Impact Awards will recognize businesses excelling in key areas such as: Technology & Innovation, Nutrition & Food Security, Rural Livelihoods & Climate Resilience, Gender Equity & Natural Resource Conservation and Job Creation.

The Grand Finale

The grand prize winners will be announced at the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition Grand Finale during the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, from 31 August to 4 September. This is your chance to gain recognition as one of Africa’s leading agrifood entrepreneurs and take your business to the global stage.

Who Can Apply? 

The Entrepreneur

  • Entrepreneur is aged 35 or below on the last date of submission to the competition, and is legally recognised as an adult in country of nationality
  • Entrepreneur holds nationality (with an official ID) from a country which is a member of the African Union
  • Entrepreneur is the founder/co-founder of the venture he/she represents in the competition and plays an active role in its operations and leadership
  • Entrepreneur has no criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, felony, or other offence, and will provide a signed declaration to that effect, if requested

The Venture

  • Venture is already legally registered in a country which is a member of the African Union or will have commenced with the registration of such a legal entity prior to 28 June 2026
  • Venture is headquartered in a country which is a member of the African Union
  • Venture is designed to be financially sustainable, either as a for-profit business or a non-profit generating some revenue and aiming not to be dependent on donor funding
  • Venture plays a role in the agrifood sector and/or supports the development of the agrifood sector through an innovation or process improvement

The agrifood sector may be defined as businesses engaged in:

  • Agrifood research & development
  • Primary food production (farming)
  • Crop nutrition
  • Irrigation
  • Mechanisation, automation or robotics, including drones
  • Crop protection
  • Hydroponics or urban farming
  • Transport, distribution, storage or logistics
  • Food processing
  • Packaging or marketing
  • Food retail or service
  • Waste management or recycling
  • Digital or technology solutions/services to the agrifood sector
  • Innovative finance solutions/services to the agrifood sector
  • Renewable energy or environmental solutions/services to the agrifood sector
