Innovative Tanzanian start-ups can now access €100,000 in non-dilutive funding and strategic support through the newly opened call for applications for develoPPP Ventures Cohort 11, implemented by DEG Impulse, a subsidiary of the German Development Finance Institution DEG. Eligible start-ups are invited to apply by 30 June 2026 for an opportunity to secure co-financing and scale their businesses sustainably. Since its inception, develoPPP Ventures has supported 36 local start-ups across clean technology and energy, healthcare, insurance, food and agriculture, and sustainable finance. Through the programme’s technical guidance and funding, these ventures have expanded access to essential services, created jobs, and delivered transformative solutions that improve everyday life. The funding is provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Across Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda, the programme has achieved significant milestones: mobilising over EUR 48 million in follow-on capital and receiving upwards of 3,000 applications to date. Programme benefits Start-ups selected for Cohort 11 will receive: EUR 100K in non-dilutive matching capital to accelerate growth Targeted technical assistance tailored to the specific needs of each business Access to a curated network of high-growth ventures across East Africa Structured support for the transition from early-stage growth to sustained profitability. Eligibility criteria Applications are welcomed from Tanzanian start-ups that meet the following criteria: Demonstrated revenue generation with an established business model A minimum of one year of audited or management financial statements A clear and credible path to profitability within three years The capacity to secure matching funds equivalent to the capital offered by the programme.
