Context InfoDev, a global partnership program in the World Bank Group’s private and financial sector development network, has the strategic objective of promoting the growth of technology-based enterprises. The program supports entrepreneurs in developing economies. He oversees a global network of business incubators and innovation centers for climate technology, agribusiness and digital entrepreneurs.
It also publishes educational resources on topics such as crowdfunding, angel investment, and business incubator management.
CTIC Dakar is a non-profit organization whose objective is to participate in the economic development of Senegal by taking action to accompany enterprises in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector as well as project promoters in the creation, development and growth of their enterprise. It was set up in collaboration with the World Bank, the International Financial Society, other development partners, the private ICT sector and the state.
It is in this context that the programme Infodev and CTIC Dakar launched the Jambar Tech Lab (JTL) programme. The JTL is an acceleration program that will accompany 40 entrepreneurs from West and Central Africa, through two (2) cohorts of six (6) months each, in the development of innovative digital products that can be replicated in other countries.
The program will drive the products selected through a one-year escort guaranteeing access to a network of mentors and coaches, capacity building, networking with experts and a week of immersion in Dakar with professionals and investors.
Tasks and Responsibilities The mentor will have tasks and responsibilities: Analyze the profiles and skills of entrepreneurs; Design and develop the necessary training modules detailing the objectives of each training, the calendar, the pedagogical, methodological and logistical details of each session and their plans, etc. ; Design and prepare all media (physical and digital) that will be distributed during training, exercises for each session; Animate training and coaching sessions for contractors assigned to them Design training assessment tools;
Products and Expected Results The mentor must provide the following products: The plans, Power Point and PDF training modules and the calendar written (this includes all PowerPoint training materials, supporting documents, hand-out, etc.) ; A report on training sessions, including a section on lessons learned and recommendations for follow-up (actions to be programmed, required and acquired skills sheet).
Chronogram -February 2017: virtual training -End of March 2017: Immersion Week in Dakar; -April 2017: virtual training and further acceleration -July 2017: Démo Day/Launch 2nd Cohorte
Qualifications and skills required The mentor will have to justify: -Professional experience of at least three (3) years -Demonaged knowledge of the ICT ecosystem, -Confirmed capacity to facilitate training, -Experience in facilitating coaching sessions and similar mentorships
