Investing in Africa's Future
As part of our Entrepreneurial Africa Programme, The British Council Ghana will be hosting the Enterprise Africa Summit, from 22 to 24 March 2017. The three-day event will bring together academics, policy-makers, private sector, investors, international and national development partners, civil society groups and entrepreneurs from across SSA and the UK to explore and develop the role of entrepreneurship in building sustainable, resilient economies in Africa.
Entrepreneurship is regarded as a crucial catalyst for the development of the continent. As the narrative shifts from aid to enterprise, we are inviting you to join the conversation. Let’s explore how to better equip African enterprises to drive innovation and resilient development.
You will hear some of the most influential and innovative voices in entrepreneurship from the UK and Africa, access investors, showcase your products and services, and benefit from extensive networking.
The Summit presents an excellent opportunity to bring together high-profile individuals, organisations and policy-makers with an interest in the development of enterprise in Africa. There will be a variety of events and sessions focused on bringing together the UK and SSA entrepreneurship ecosystems. These include:
Policy Forum: assembling high-level policy makers in the enterprise/private sector across Africa and the UK to explore policy innovations in promoting entrepreneurship, including the role of social enterprise in Africa. This will include financing, regulatory and business development.
Education Forum: this forum targets policy makers and leaders in the educational sector to explore best practices in positioning educational institutions as enablers in transformational entrepreneurship education in Africa.
Other sessions: Investor marketplace where entrepreneurs can access training opportunities, pitch for grants, equity and build capacity, enterprise clinics and workshops, creative arts enterprise forum, networking events, ecosystem visits and exhibitions.
Entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, policy makers, private sector, academia, foundations, development practitioners, investors and industry networks.
