The Investor Meetups are local yet powerful spaces for curated conversations and valuable networking opportunities with fellow investors and ecosystem builders right in your city. Key stakeholders, angel investors, Venture Capitalists, LPs, and GPS passionate about the growth of the African startup ecosystem are invited to attend under the umbrella theme of #AESIS2024 “Pioneering Pathways: Innovating Investment Mobilization in Africa”.

Mobilizing Investment for Africa’s Future

The Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (#AESIS2024), organized by VC4A and the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), has been connecting Africa-focused investors from 90 countries around the world for over a decade. As a community dedicated to advancing the early-stage ecosystem in Africa, we are thrilled to host the Annual Summit in Cape Town, themed “Pioneering Pathways: Innovating Investment Mobilization in Africa.”

Scheduled for 28th and 29th November 2024, the Summit will once again feature pre-summit regional Investor Meetups in global cities, from September 30th to October 25th, 2024. These meetups are designed to foster collaboration among local investors and position hosts as key drivers and enablers within their local startup ecosystems.

Cities across Africa participating in the meetups include Nairobi, Kampala, Dar es Salaam, Lusaka, Tunis, Cape Town, Maputo, Conakry, Alexandria, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Moroni, Dakar, Lilongwe, Kigali, Windhoek, Douala, Gaborone, Abuja, Abidjan, Lomé, Praia, Casablanca, Johannesburg, Accra, and more. International cities such as Dublin, San Francisco, and Amsterdam will also participate in the meetup lineup.

By highlighting Africa’s investment opportunities, these meetups are designed to strengthen key partnerships and promote greater collaboration on a global scale.

97% of attendees from last year’s events noted that they were happy to recommend the meetups to other investors.

With limited spots remaining, investors are invited to secure their complimentary tickets for the upcoming meetups. Each meetup will offer regionally relevant networking activity either emerging trends and/or opportunities in their investment ecosystem, ensuring valuable insights for attendees. These sessions also provide a unique opportunity to connect with key players, discover new co-investment opportunities, and build valuable partnerships across the ecosystem.

Don’t miss out!

Investors are encouraged to secure their complimentary tickets here for the local investor meetup, as space is limited. The official AESIS website provides more details on the registration details. Meetup attendees will also benefit from a special discount for the landmark #AESIS2024 2-day summit, an opportunity to network with industry peers and collaborate for a stronger early-stage investment landscape in Africa.

The success of the Investor Meetups is powered by the incredible support of our active partners in various regions, including GIZ SAIS, UK Nigeria Tech Hub, African Angel Academy, FMO, She Wins Africa, and the UK South Africa Tech Hub, among others. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the African Business Angel Network’s angel networks and VC investor co-hosts from different countries for their essential contributions in making these events possible. As we approach the end of the year, we eagerly anticipate welcoming many of these investors from around the globe to Cape Town as we jointly continue to build momentum and drive value within the Africa-facing early-stage investing community.
