2021 is well underway and – for us at VC4A – that means a new year of Mentor-Driven Capital (MDC) programs in Egypt, Nigeria and Somaliland, as part of our ongoing Work in Progress! program. This program is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we are working together with Oxfam, Butterfly Works, and Hanze University to address youth unemployment within each of the three countries. VC4A does this through it’s proven Mentor-Driven Capital program.
Mentor-Driven Capital (MDC) 2021
Our ‘Mentor-Driven Capital’ program boosts mentors’ abilities to support promising entrepreneurs, guiding them to achieve their business goals while you also aim for your own level of success as a business mentor and leader. You will receive expert guidance, training and hands-on support, be matched with an entrepreneur and share your knowledge, experience and network over the course of 4 months.
Learn how to engage founders, the rules for mentorship, and how to maximize your impact as a business mentor (and potential angel investor!). Share with industry experts, tap industry-leading knowledge, and engage your peers in this hands-on learning journey.
For our upcoming 2021 programs, which will begin somewhere in April (exact dates TBD), we seek to identify and recruit 15 mentors in each country and 15 motivated entrepreneurs. Depending on global COVID circumstances, they will either be fully virtual or even (if we’re lucky!) combine virtual and physical meetings in-country. Regardless, we’ll make it a rewarding experience.
Are you a senior business leader, active or aspiring angel investor, and want to join us?
Ask yourself:
- Do you want to make a difference in the lives of starting entrepreneurs and their journey?
- Are you an established business professional, entrepreneur, or investor with some time on your hands?
- Do you want to be part of the exciting startup ecosystem?
Join us and the wider mentor community
In the 2020 Work in Progress MDC program, we coached 34 mentors across the 3 countries, and we look forward to working with even more this year! Strong business mentors are vital to the ecosystems around them, especially now at a time of global crisis.
Stay tuned for more details on our website as we plan out the programs, or email melissa [at] vc4a [.com] with questions.
