Pitching the Africa opportunity to international investors at EBAN Winter University

ABAN at DEMO

For the first time ever, early-stage investors from Africa and the Middle East will join their European colleagues as they gather to exchange best practices and create cross-border investment opportunities in the world’s most innovative and entrepreneurial economies.

The European Business Angel Network (EBAN) Winter University Conference in Helsinki will bring together top notch angels from across the world including Tomi Davies (Lagos Angels), David Rose (Gust/Rose Ventures), Jenny Tooth (UK Angels), Peter Jungen (German Angels) and Abdulmalek Al-Jaber (Middle East Angel Network), together with European Crowd Funding Network President Oliver Gajda. This year’s event will focus on celebrating and creating “Success Stories” and inspiring “Cross-Border and Cross-Continent Business Angel Investment and Exits”.

VC4Africa’s David van Dijk explains: “The Helsinki event will be a great platform to present African investment opportunities to an audience of international angel investors!  We will have an Africa session to talk about the developments in our space and we look forward to connect with European Angels considering the African opportunity.”

The Winter University Conference will also see the foundation of the first pan-African Business Angel Network: ABAN. The formation of a pan-African network of angel investors was one of the topics discussed at the Investor Summit VC4Africa organized in Lagos as part of DEMO Africa 2014. The European Business Angel Network (EBAN) joined the Lagos event and are now inviting the founding members of ABAN to the Winter University Conference in Helsinki.
