We believe entrepreneurship development in Africa can be accelerated when we connect a global network of knowledge and capital. As part of this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 18th – 24th), the VC4Africa community initiates a global conversation on African entrepreneurship.
On Thursday, November the 21st, VC4Africa members from around the globe are taking the initiative to host a meetup in their own town. These informal networking events bring together entrepreneurs, angels and VC investors eager to contribute to the continent’s next great success story. Maybe even more importantly, these local meetups are also a chance for us to engage new people, otherwise the individuals who have yet to get involved in the African entrepreneurship ecosystem in a meaningful way.
For this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 18th – 24th, 2013), meetups have already been confirmed for London, Amsterdam, Nairobi, Lagos, New York, Kigali, Lille and Chicago. Many more are in the works. We invite you to join this movement and initiate your own meetup! All events will be hosted on Thursday, November the 21st. Complete the form below to register your interest to participate in this global event and join our growing network of meetup organizers. After completing the form a representative from VC4Africa will respond to you shortly.

What is a VC4Africa Meetup?
Second to networking online, VC4Africa makes use of the Barcamp model (an international network of user generated conferences – open, participatory workshop/events, whose content is provided by participants) to organize our very own series of VC4Africa Meetups. We like this open format because it means that anyone can participate. Any member of VC4Africa can organize a meeting in their area whenever they feel there is a need. As with all VC4Africa Meetups, they are simply a place for members to meet one another and share thoughts and ideas. No speeches, no agenda, nothing planned. The loose structure allows for lots of networking. Just remember, everyone is expected to pay for their own drinks : )

As VC4Africa we help you organize the meeting and promote it across our networks. More than 60 events have been hosted around the world including Kigali, Kampala, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Lagos, Tunis, San Francisco, Atlanta, Washington DC, New York, London, Leuven, Amsterdam, and many more.
What is Global Entrepreneurship Week?
Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
