Startup Weekend – Come show your support and join us in Alexandria

Four Seasons (Bleu Bar) – Alexandria
Sep 23 2011 7:00 PM – Sep 23 2011 10:00 PM

Come show your support!

VC4Africa is pleased to partner with Mohammad Omara and the Startup Weekend, a bootcamp being organized for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of September in Alexandria, Egypt. The event will see 400 entrepreneurs go heads down for 54 hours. Half of the participants have a background in business while the other half bring technical prowess to the table. The intensive three day bootcamp will bear witness to the launch of many exciting startups eager to join Egypt’s digital ranks.

We invite you to join us Friday the 23rd of September at Bleu Bar for the first VC4Africa Meetup to be hosted in Egypt. This networking event will start at 7 PM.

As with all VC4Africa Meetups, they are simply a place for members to meet one another and share thoughts and ideas. No speeches, no agenda, nothing planned. The loose structure allows for lots of networking. Just remember, everyone is expected to pay for their own drinks : )

And in the effort to create a network effect, please feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues and friends who would be interested. And don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any thoughts, ideas or questions!

Speak soon and happy networking!
Ben

What is a VC4Africa Meetup?

As VC4Africa we believe it is important we meet ‘offline’ as we do ‘online.’ For 9 months we have been using the BarCamp model (an international network of user generated conferences – open, participatory workshop/events, whose content is provided by participants) to organize our very own series of
VC4Africa Meetups.

Already we have hosted VC4Africa meetups in Johannesburg, Abuja, Kampala, Nairobi, Kigali, Buea, Douala, Tunis, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Leuven, Stockholm, Paris, Washington DC, San Francisco, Boston, New York and Atlanta. We like this open format because it means that anyone can participate. Any member of VC4Africa can organize a meeting in their area whenever they feel there is a need.
