1999, operations began Ecofuturo S.A. Private Financial Fund thanks to the union of the group composed of 4 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), committed to working for the development of micro and small enterprises in the country.

At the beginning of its activities, between the period 1999 to 2002, Ecofuturo F.F.P. S.A. faced difficult financial situations in a macroeconomic crisis environment of the country, to subsequently achieve highly positive results and financial sustainability.

The year 2008, IDEPRO, shareholder of the company, transferred all its shares to Fundación para Alternativas de Desarrollo (FADES), which is currently the largest shareholder of the institution.

In 2014 the Financial System Authority (ASFI) issued a Resolution establishing the transformation of Ecofuturo S.A. to Banco Pyme Ecofuturo, a social reason that allowed the institution to diversify the range of financial products such as trusts, foreign trade, guarantee ballots and credit cards.

Banco Pyme Ecofuturo S.A. recently served 21 years in the Management 2020, providing quality comprehensive financial services, responding in a timely manner to the demand of its customers and users in the social responsibility framework.
