Call for startups tackling Covid-19

Great necessity inspires great innovation,” says Magnus Grimeland, co-founder and CEO of Antler.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to disrupt human life around the world, now is a time when innovators need to come together for the greater good. That’s why we believe it is our time to do our part at Antler.

This is the largest public health crisis of our lifetime,” adds Jussi Salovaara, co-founder of Antler and lead of the Covid-19 initiative.

We all need to come together to create solutions for the global community to recover now and live in a post-Covid-19 world. I strongly believe we need to collaborate and build the right tech-backed solutions to ensure we create a path to recovery.

Our global team has committed US$500,000 in funding to startups tackling problems created by Covid-19.

We invite startups tackling the Covid-19 outbreak to apply for funding. If you have an idea or existing startup that can chart the path to recovery, we want to hear from you. We want to accelerate your innovation by investing in you. The Covid-19 call is global and fully remote.

This “Covid-19 Call” initiative is open to startups and will invest in up to five teams from any location in the world.

Solutions we would like to fund

Antler is inviting startups to propose solutions in:

  • Mitigation (e.g. masks, contact tracing, surveillance, data infrastructure),
  • Medical Equipment (e.g. test kits, protective devices, ventilators),
  • Remote Health (e.g. telehealth, remote patient monitoring, symptom checkers) and
  • Digital Tools (e.g. remote work, smart delivery, e-learning). The purpose is to contribute towards the path recovery from the crisis. Apply by April 15!

Process overview

Selected teams will be invited to do a video pitch session within 7 days of applying. Following a screening process, the finalists will pitch to Antler’s Investment Committee (IC) remotely. Our Investment criteria will take into account the relevance towards mitigating Covid-19. We will also look at how your startup works in a post-Covid-19 era.

The top teams will receive an investment of US$100,000 and have the opportunity to join an Antler program at a location closest to them, with most modules being remote. The chosen teams will get full access to the Antler platform and network. They will also be able to participate at one of our Demo Days. Check out our FAQs in case of any questions.
