AL SHARQ Youth Startup Pitching Competition

Calling all seed to early stage startups that are being run by youth ( 18 – 35 ) to compete in a pitching competition for up to R5,000 in prize money.

Al Sharq Youth is a network of active and passionate youth in various fields who are interested in public affairs.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

South African Startups that are in the seed to early stage where the majority of the founders are between the ages of 18 – 35. The startups should be willing and available to pitch their idea to a team of judges at the Al Sharq Youth Cape Town Hub Regional Event and Launch on the 18th August 2018.

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

Aside from the R5,000 in prize money, Al Sharq Youth will provide the winning startup with the opportunity to pitch their idea at the Al Sharq Youth Annual Conference in 2019.

SELECTION CRITERIA

In our review of applications, we will be looking for the following:

• The level with which the startup idea agrees with the Al Sharq Youth Values.
• How disruptive the startup’s idea is within its industry.
• The potential with which the startup has to scale globally.
