MENA’s first InsurTech Hackathon – INSURHACK

The largest insurer in the MENA region, Qatar Insurance Company and the leading global professional services firm, Deloitte, are excited to invite start-ups from MENA, SEA and Europe who are keen to explore opportunities in the MENA region to be a part of this hackathon. The organizers are nurturing start-ups developing the insurtech ecosystem with the invaluable support of advisors, investors and key players of the industry here in the MENA region.

InsurHack is aimed at start-ups developing solutions in the areas of big tech analytics, AI/ML, behavioural economics and conversational AI-focused in the Health and Mobility sectors.

This is a unique opportunity for start-ups to work together with industry partners and sponsors to co-create new value propositions that will help shape the future of the insurance industry. 

Successful applicants will be invited to participate in a 2-day virtual hackathon between 22nd-23rd of May. 15 semi-finalist teams from the hackathon will be offered mentorship from partners of the co-hosts, Deloitte and QIC Group as well as partners QFC, PRIFINA, and Anthemis, to refine their solutions. Six finalist teams will be invited to Doha for an opportunity to pitch their solutions at the Insurtech Qatar Conference, on June 23rd, 2022. 

InsurHack candidates are invited to develop solutions in either of two categories:

Health (enhanced digital experience for healthcare patients and professionals)

Mobility (enhanced digital experience for the purchase, safety and distribution of vehicles)

Participants will be competing for the chance to access prizes such as

• The one winning start-up will co-build a solution in the MENA region with the support of regional market leaders including QIC and Deloitte, among others.

• The one winning start-up will secure a potential investment opportunity with QIC.

• The one winning start-up will attend, network and pitch at InsurTech Connect, the world’s largest InsurTech conference, network and pitch at Insurtech Connect, the world’s largest conference for insurance leaders and innovators in Las Vegas, USA. The pitching slot will be offered by Anthemis, a global leading insurtech VC. 

• The 6 finalists will be invited to pitch directly in Doha to reputable ecosystem players, venture capitalists, corporates, and other decision-makers.

• 15 Semi-finalists will receive access to regional and international mentors from corporate partners to refine and develop their MVP / prototypes.
