Green Transition Challenge (Enrich In Africa x EDF)

EDF invites European and African startups, entrepreneurs, and companies with groundbreaking energy projects to develop innovative solutions for a more sustainable future on both continents.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to collaborate with EDF and join the EDF Pulse Africa acceleration program. Finalists will have the chance to pitch their ideas at the AU EU Innovation Festival in Cape Town and network with key players from the European and African innovation ecosystem.

Challenge categories

Startups are welcome to apply to 3 categories:

• Low-carbon consumption: Are you designing new models to reconcile the preservation of the planet with economic development? This category is meant for you.
• Low-carbon production: Are you one of those companies that hybridize technologies or invent new ways of producing or storing electricity? Give your project the power to transform the future and apply.
• Decarbonizing through digital technology: For you, climate equals data? If you are one of those who see digital as a solution and not just a problem, you are in the right place.

Eligibility criteria

This Challenge is open and offered solely to:

• duly registered and incorporated companies in Europe and Africa, employing no more than 30 people, and acting in one of the following fields:
  • (i) Low-carbon consumption: for example designing new models to reconcile the preservation of the planet with economic development;
  • (ii) Low-carbon production: for example  innovative ways of producing or storing electricity;
  • (iii) Decarbonising through digital technology.
• which comply with these rules and the Terms and Conditions of Use, as well as the laws, regulations and other texts in force in relation to such Challenge.

Opportunities and incentives

Finalist prizes include:
The Grand Winner will earn a spot in the EDF Pulse Africa program.

As well as:

• Invitation to the final event in Cape Town.
• Visibility through EIA main communication channels.
• A License for the Accelerator Squared online platform.

During the Final Event Ceremony, you will have the opportunity to pitch at a major AU-EU Innovation event in front of EDF top executives and network with key players from the European and African innovation ecosystem.
