Creating value for SMEs
The African Microfinance Week (referred to as the SAM, based on the French acronym), is a biennial conference held in Africa that brings together microfinance institutions, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and innovators from all around Africa.
Not only will the conference include plenary and breakout sessions, but there will also be a number of trainings and workshops, as well as three large side events: the Research Meets Africa conference, the Investor’s Fair and the Innovation Fair.
This year’s topic of the SAM is “Creating Value for SMEs: a new frontier for inclusive finance.” Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises can be a driving force in creation and economic growth and yet often do not have access to proper financial and non-financial services. SAM 2017 is an opportunity to share innovative solutions to this problem of the ‘missing middle’ and accelerate growth on the continent.
The 3rd edition of the SAM will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 9th to 13th.
Visit the website of the SAM to learn more and see the complete agenda!
