1001 Ideas Para Mi País

Creando oportunidades para jóvenes líderes y emprendedores en las Américas

Carlos Eduardo Vargas Palencia of Venezuela, Co-Founder of 1001 Ideas For My Country is the Entrepreneur of the Month YABT. 1001 Ideas For My Country is an organization that aims to link, form and promote the participation of young people in social and citizen development through creativity and innovation. It seeks to connect young people with the public, especially those selfless with the social-political area and those without associative behavior. For 1001 Ideas, this connection is made through activities of youth interest with social content, as well as training through non-traditional learning and finally through the incubation and/or acceleration of projects and initiatives of a social character. The project has positively impacted the lives of 2500 young people and indirectly in the lives of 10000 people of the city of Caracas in the last year.

1001 Ideas Team ” The project began to be conceived in September 2015, thanks to a multidisciplinary group of young people that we generate a differentiated proposal for a target audience little involved in other initiatives and with the element of creativity and innovation as a transversal axis to the organization. The differentiating element of our proposal is creativity and innovation as a means to connect young people with social and citizen development. All activity, internal and external, part of the essence of the young person, of the millenial profile. Our work is carried out through the adaptation of the public-social offer to the interests and trends of young people “, says our Entrepreneur of the Month.

All the formative content of 1001 ideas is based on non-traditional learning; competition education, experiential education, gamification education, among other branches of education. All the content of their activities are covered in the spectrum of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, both the activities of linking, the training and the projects that are in the stage of linkage or acceleration.

” The organization functions as an ecosystem, those young disinterested or non-associated have the opportunity to connect with the public and the social through an activity that calls them attention in some area (art, sport, technology, entertainment, among others). This also allows them to become deeply involved in the topics of their interest and finally become a social entrepreneur who helps other young people to live a similar experience “deepens the young entrepreneur.

When consulting him about at what point in his life he realized that he would be enterprising, the young Venezuelan says” I think that really more than realizing that I would be enterprising I realized that I was entrepreneurial. All my life I have had ideas and projects that have often not been possible but for many years I have been able to understand what it means to work for an idea and to put the dedication, commitment and commitment necessary to see it materialize. I even think that all people are potentially enterprising (or potential entrepreneurs), just enough of those ideas that are in all our heads there is something, a spark that goes on and determines to mobilize us to achieve that dream, that goal, right there, at any stage of life, at any level of development, we stop being entrepreneurial in power and become empowered entrepreneurs. “

In the near future, 1001 Ideas For My Country aims to become a reference organization of innovation in the social participation of the young people in the region. “Within our strategic planning, we conceived the year 2017 and 2018 as the ideal ones to expand our model for the Venezuelan national territory and after getting it to migrate in the year 2019 and onward to the different countries of the Latin American region that also require an innovative public offering for their young people, starting with the sister countries of Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia” expresses Vargas.

Social entrepreneurship is undoubtedly a fundamental tool for the development of countries. New trends in innovation and social initiatives have recently achieved greater visibility and impact on the contribution of generating social capital for countries and 1001 Ideas does not escape from this reality. The spectrum of disinterested or unmotivated young people from Venezuela’s partner-political landscape revolves around 80% while only 20% of young people are grouped together, and only 4% of them are associated in political or social groupings.

This is why the initiative of 1001 Ideas For My Country has a significant impact on Venezuela, as it does not only have an impact on the lives of young people to contribute to its development, but also gives it the opportunities and tools to regain hope in the development of its place of origin and at the same time.

” The realities in Latin America are not very dissimilar between countries, even though there are different degrees and levels of social affectation, but it is precisely because of the similarities that 1001 Ideas currently impacts and aims to impact much more on the sustainable development of Latin America, helping to connect more and more young people with social and innovation development through creativity and innovation, providing the necessary tools. To materialize their ideas and support it in the implementation of their social enterprises, “says the Entrepreneur of the Month YABT.

YABT consulted with the young entrepreneur about his participation as a young leader in the Youth Forum of the Americas.” I had the opportunity to participate in the IV Youth Forum of the Americas in the framework of the VII Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of American States that was held in Panama in April 2015. Particularly my participation was in the Table of Work of Democratic Governance and Citizen Participation, from there we held different, enriching and interesting debates on the role of democracy and also civil society in our continent, with special attention on the role of young people and their different risks, challenges, opportunities and responsibilities to their countries. “

” The IV Youth Forum of the Americas was really an experience that changed my life, was there where I met different people, organizations and institutions that were making efforts of great importance for the development of the youth of the continent and even of the world and that was what led me to go into the world of social entrepreneurship and to want to continue to deepen these issues and share experiences on how to achieve positive influence in society, especially in the youth of the hemisphere and planet earth ” concludes the young Venezuelan disattacked.
