THE TRANSPORT-TECH PITCH COMPETITION

Calling for innovations in transport technology from the West African region

The WA-TTS Transport-Tech Pitch Competition is West-Africa’s most exciting competition for innovative, tech startups across West Africa. 

Allow your startup to connect and compete in front of a live audience, panel of expert judges, industry thought leaders, venture capitalists, and high-profile international media at WA-TTS on 29th September, 2021. 

Winning will also significantly raise the profile and awareness of your startup both on a national and international level, you’ll also be allowed to connect with top investors, influencers and corporates along the way.

Startups from two categories (Idea stage) and (Early-stage/1-3yrs) will be selected as finalists and invited to pitch on stage at WA-TTS 2021 as we highlight the innovations in transport technology from the West African region at the summit. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (IDEA STAGE)

  • The competition is open to startups whose primary business operations focus on tech solutions for transportation.
  • At least 1 member of the team will be a registered delegate at the event
  • Able to demonstrate market Need for your product or service
  • You must be a resident from an eligible country (16 west African countries)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (EARLY STAGE)

  • The competition is open to startups whose primary business operations focus on tech solutions for transportation.
  • At least 2 members of the team will be registered delegates at the event
  • Already have a Minimum Viable Product
  • Able to demonstrate market traction.
  • Company must be incorporated/registered.
  • Have no known intellectual property conflicts.

You must be a resident from an eligible country (16 west African countries)


What’s in it for you: 

  • Pitch your company to an audience of 2000+ attendees plus a panel of leading industry experts.
  • Each selected startup will get 3 minutes to complete a slide-free pitch, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A from the judges. Judges will be given your pitch decks before the competition.
  • Winners will be announced shortly after the pitch competition.

Timeline

  • April 14th – Application Opens
  • July 14th– Application Closes
  • August 1st – The selected pitching companies announced.
  • August 14th – Pitch coaching for finalists
  • September 29th – Pitch-Day
