We are rebuilding the informal dairy value chain by providing a mobile accounting application to informal dairy traders, then contracting with them to buy their milk. After we process the milk, we sell it through a network of milk dispensing machines called milk ATMs which we install in shops around urban and para-urban centers in Kenya. We are able to capture large margins while helping customers access milk at 40% cheaper than alternatives and giving farmers almost 2x the value for their milk than any other dairy buying organization.
