Smallholder breeders are illiterate and thus, they lack information and knowledge on the proper and efficient use of those agro-medicine. Indeed, faulty pharmacy tools and medicine practices have led to devastating effects ranging from low yields, environmental pollution to potentially deadly human health conditions and animals health.
SmartRearing is an android app provides informatio proper, efficient use and handling of overuse agro-medicine, the app are constructed in the local language, Kinyarwanda, and in English and helps breeders to automatically get real updated information agro-inputs to increase productivity in livestock farming and will ensure a good-safety-level use of agro-medicine by animal growers; and this will help reduce chemical residues in agro-veterinary products, protecting consumers from the potentially harmful residues.
