Cancer is a growing phenomenon in Nigeria with about 109,00 diagnosed cases and 72,000 mortalities yearly. Most importantly, the most deadly form of breast cancer called triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) affects women of West African ancestry 2 times more than it affects women of other ethnicities, and sadly affects mostly women under age 40, has a prognosis of 5 years post-diagnosis, and is often discovered at late stages leading to increase in breast cancer deaths in Africa.
We seek to mitigate this by fostering a culture of routine cancer screening every year, and by taking away most of the current barriers to accessing this screening and testing.
