In Kenya, only 26% of the population has access to adequate housing. This shortage of housing has led to the growth of informal settlements and slums, which are often located in areas vulnerable to climate change.
Plastic waste is a significant environmental problem in Kenya, with much of it ending up in landfills or polluting waterways. Currently, Nairobi generates 500 MT of plastic waste on daily basis with less than 20% being recycled.
We address the challenge of climate change and housing crisis in Africa by employing local solutions developed by Africans for Africa. We provide quick-build structures through a plastic constructive system designed for Africans to fulfill their desire of owning quality homes. The plastic constructive system is comprised of interlocking blocks, universal columns, and beams made out of recycled plastic waste. This product is modular and can be customized into houses, classrooms, retail shops, and storage units.
