According to WHO, more than 200 million Africans suffer from a mental health disorder, 95% of them have not received treatment. This is due to resource constraints, there are only 5 psychiatrist to over 100,000 patients moreover majority are found in big towns and cities yet the African population is largely rural.
Since we are in the information age, mental wellness will become as important as safety was in the industrial age. the developed economies have already shown this with mental health receiving the highest budget allocation as well as billings. The emerging markets will follow suit, though stigma is the biggest challenge.
