Cocoa pod breaking is a post-harvest activity that is still a significant challenge unaddressed over the years. According to ARPN journal (2012), 77% of cocoa farmers rely on external labour of which 75% suffer from various hazards and injuries associated with post-harvest activities.
Our solution is a locally fabricated mobile cocoa pod-breaking machine that automatically separates the beans from the husk and placenta thereby maximizing productivity by 100%, reducing labor cost by 50%, and reducing cocoa pod breaking hazards by 100% . Our innovation is a better, faster, and safer way of cocoa pod breaking.
In addition to our machine being easy to build, maintain and operate, it has the capacity to break 7,200 pods per hour and employs a human centred design that enables it to maneuver its way through cocoa trees and very poor road networks.
Our business model includes outright sales , hire purchase, pre orders, spare parts sales and servicing fees.
