The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) estimates that there are almost 2,152,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) in Nigeria as of 31 December 2015. On a global scale, Nigeria is only ranked behind Syria with 6.5 million IDPs and Colombia with 5.7 million IDPs. The Tangent Eco-Innovation Hub is currently working with Startup teams to create a sustainable source of income for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria. We hope to introduce modern urban farm techniques to support the livelihood in these camps especially for women. Our proposal is for the development of modern aquaponics systems within the skills acquisition center at Kochingoro IDP Camp Abuja -FCT. We look forward to raising $20,000 to support this venture.
We also provide opportunities for African youth in STEM Education.
