The biggest problem limiting the success of women smallholder farmers in the Northeast, Nigeria is lack of access to microcredit loans and quality inputs, especially the improved seeds and fertilizers. This problem occurs as a result of discrimination against women smallholder farmers from cultural and religious perspective, despite they constitute 60% of the farmers.
We solve these problems by providing the women smallholder farmers with support which includes; high quality inputs (improved seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides) and postharvest storage sacks. We also engage experts to provide them with agricultural extension services that are aimed at boosting their productivity and yields. These extension services include; good agricultural practices, training on climate smart agriculture, soil analysis and training on post-harvest storage techniques. We also train them on financial literacy, business management and value addition.
