Hydrobloom is a start-up hydroponics company in Zimbabwe, which offers soilless systems of growing crops saving over 90% of water as compared to traditional farming, while using 85% of land, by using mineral nutrient solutions in water solvent.
Hydrobloom will be the number one supplier of hydroponic plants and systems to the agricultural and farming sectors of Africa, with its operations being in Zimbabwe, where hydroponics has not been widely established. Hydrobloom sets its targets on farms and households in Southern Africa by offering its main business in hydroponic systems. The company will also offer grow media, farming equipment, hydroponically grown vegetables and seedlings as well as the soluble nutrients required to grow the crops.
Hydrobloom offers a way different from the norm of growing crops to Farmers and individuals in households, especially in countries like Southern Africa, which have been affected by droughts, erratic rains, malnutrition and climate change.
