Smallholder farmers have limited means of transporting their perishable vegetables and fruits to the market: hence, they incur huge post-harvest losses due to spoilage. Post-harvest losses in South Sudan ~ 49% (WFP).
South Links buys vegetables/fruits from smallholder cooperatives at competitive farm-gate prices. In doing so we:
1. provide cold transport and cold storage for the farmers
2. process these vegetables/fruits into the finished products
3. And most importantly, link the farmers to ready market
Our revenue streams:
1. Sale of value added (processed) vegetables and fruits
2. Sale of fresh vegetables and fruits
3. Cold transport/delivery charges
95% of these solutions are powered by solar system
