Solar Dev is a Burkina Faso–based company that aims to support the real economy by financing and developing solar infrastructure for SMEs. Our goal is to give businesses access to reliable, sustainable and most importantly affordable energy in the financially underserved region of francophone West Africa.

Through an integrated financing model, Solar Dev connects local and international capital to fund solar installations. The company manages the entire product’s value chain — from design to financing to installation — allowing clients to reduce their electricity bills and grow their businesses with limited upfront investment.

Clients enter in a lease to own contract, with monthly payments aligned to the savings they make on energy costs. Until the full amount is paid, the system remains the property of Solar Dev. After full repayment the ownership is transferred to the client.
